Are you practicing SELF CARE?!

Just wanted to pop in and send a few thoughts your way!

ANYHOW, be it the busy Holiday Season I really wanted to share these tips with all of you; and stress the importance of self care. Because we ALL know how important Self Care really IS; however so many of us put it on the back burner because we 'don't have time.' And I GET IT---I've been there, I know how hard it is to constantly put yourself LAST--especially as a stay at home mom, a busy wife, a work away from home mom who is trying to manage the household and so forth--like I GET IT.

As women we are SO good at putting everyone else's needs to the front of the line and our own to the back.  I really encourage you to take action on a few of these things in the next coming weeks--and see how much BETTER you feel!

1. Are you Eating clean foods?!

This may seem like a no brainer; but it can be much more complicated in reality; however when you FUEL yourself with good food---your body functions at a higher level; like it is supposed to! So add an extra veggie to each meal, pass on the soda or the third cup of coffee and opt for water or tea! 2. Are you getting outside everyday and/or moving your body?

This time of year in the New England--daylight is MINIMAL and it sucks. Sunlight is few and far between so you have to take advantage of the daylight when you can. Get outside on your lunch break for 10-15 minutes if you can; even if its 5 minutes--walk around your building/school/where-ever you work and just BREATH in the cool air. Maybe you drive your kiddos to the top of the driveway to meet the bus; what about walking them up (or down) instead? Any little movement that you can add into your day will help!

3. Are you DRINKING WATER?!

Ahhhh--such a HUGE factor in how our bodies function. The human body is amazing--and is over 70% water so guess what, if you aren't drinking enough--you won't be functioning that well either! Many of us suffer from chronic headaches, low energy, and feeling weak--and more often than not it is our body telling you to DRINK WATER! You NEED it. You should be drinking HALF of your body weight in ounces--so drink up! and notice what a difference it makes.

4. How is your ENVIRONMENT around you?

Do you have a lot of clutter lying around? (trust me we all do at times!) Do you have clothes in your closet that you no longer wear but just haven't had time to clean out? Maybe all your underwear is so old and you haven't bought new ones in years, or maybe you keep staring at that box of papers you really, really need to cycle through. I encourage you to de-clutter, clean out clothes that no longer serve you and BUY yourself some NEW underwear!! ;) You will be AMAZED at what a difference this makes in your self-care routine and how amazing it will make you feel! Donate your clothes, recycle the papers and pat yourself on the back! Now go buy those undies!

5. AND last but not least--if you are a stay at home Momma--I totally get that showers and getting dressed in the morning can be hard to come by; but I really, really encourage you to wash your face, brush your teeth, hop in the shower if you can and put on a little mascara and maybe even JEANS if you are feeling up too it each morning--or aim for every other! It makes you feel human and have a bit more patience with your little mini's too.
