Love Yo Self--Day 1.
Hello Gorgeous Momma!
I hope you join in with us on this Self-Love Challenge for this coming week that I have dubbed LOVE YO SELF. Because we ALL know we gotta nourish ourselves before we can flourish.
And I know as a busy Mom--we tend to put ourselves last and I really wanted to make it a point to focus on YOU this month. We ALL can take 10 minutes out of our day for us--if you say you don't have 10 minutes, then make time for 20--put down the phone, turn off the TV, wake up a few minutes earlier, whatever it may be I PROMISE you DO have 10 minutes to spare!
If you remember, my theme to kick of January was Self-Love.--I figured now is the perfect time to bring it back for a bit, because I know how those New Year Resolutions tend to fade FAST. February can be a long month--especially if you are living in a colder climate! So let us LOVE on US a bit!
Today, for Day ONE-- I challenge you all to DIVE INTO a NEW BOOK! Let's take a little less time away from scrolling the newsfeed, or Netflix--and get back to good 'old reading. It will do wonders for your mind, body and soul. Reading can create a healthy distraction and can reduce anxiety and relieve stress.
Here are a few of my recommendations:
(Or maybe you have one lying around that you have been meaning to read for MONTHS--dust it off and dive girl!)
Empowering Mothers-- Since there will never be more hours in the day, The Empowered Mama will help you maximize the hours you DO have to accomplish what matters most. This book/guide focuses on all parts of a momma's life -- work relationships, built-up stressors, cleaning up your diet, even going green and being more mindful about the environment -- all with the understanding that getting the rest of your life in order will only bring about GOOD things for you and family!
Anxious for Nothing: I've mentioned this book before--LOVE IT.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
When it comes to anxiety, depression, and stress-related illnesses, America is the frontrunner. Thankfully, there’s a practical prescription for dealing with these issues--and it does not always have to be medication! Lucado provides a roadmap for battling with and healing from anxiety in this book!
Push by Chalene Johnson--Looking for ways to stick to goal setting or changing those bad habits into better habits for good?! I LOVE Chalene and she breaks down goal setting for you in simple manageable tasks so you can change your habits in 30 days--whether that means ridding the junk food, draining exercise regimens, or toxic relationships. In one month, you will learn how to create layers of accountability and support so that success is your only option.
May Cause Miracles--I LOVED this 40 day challenge book; it has a brief morning and evening reading that you do as well as journal exercise to complete each day focusing on your mindset, body image, finances and relationships. You focus on releasing fear and allowing gratitude, forgiveness, and love. All of which, ultimately, will lead to lives of abundance, acceptance, appreciation, and happiness.
And if you seriously feel like you cannot manage 10 minutes a day of reading--I highly suggest Audible!! You can use it to purchase books on Audio--and listen while you workout, drive, fold laundry, wash dishes or even as you're laying in bed at night!
If you use the link above you can get your first two free books for free!!
Can't beat that am I right?!
Happy Reading Momma!!
Be sure to share in the comments below what book are reading!
See ya'll tomorrow for DAY TWO.
