Four Health Tips for Pregnancy

Hello Friends!!

I just wanted to share some tips for all my momma's to be out there!

Going through pregnancy three times in three years taught me a lot.
I've failed a lot, grown a lot (mind and body!) and want to share my top four tips for making the MOST of your pregnancy! Because it should be a GOOD experience.
What I found was there is A LOT out there today; and everyone is going to try to tell you to do it this way or that.
I'm here to tell you the most important things and to make it WAY less overwhelming for you K?!

Oh hey baby bump--this was my #2--I feel with each
pregnancy I get a little bit bigger each time...

When you become pregnant, especially the first time there will be 1001 things running through your brain. Right now research and science continues to stat that the rising rates of infertility, mechanized childbirth and infant disease is caused by a combination of stress, environmental factors and personal health choices.

Stress reduction, improved nutrition, toxin reduction and overall maternal health can positively impact the health of your baby and YOUR health. Exercise during pregnancy also has been backed by the last decade to reduce medically induced labor and births and reduce common ailments during those 9 months of carrying your babe.

1. De-STRESS!
Maintaining positive emotions have been shown to increase the health benefits of your unborn child. Finding a method that works for YOU is key. There are several different ways to accomplish lowering your stress levels. You can attend a weekly yoga class, or do yoga at home daily. You can meditate (honestly taking 1-5 minutes daily out of your day will make a HUGE difference) journaling, and walking are great ways to decrease your stress.
2. Remove Household Toxins
Choosing natural household products and cleaners is a big step in achieving pregnancy wellness. Unfortunately, today the world is really good at adding very dangerous toxins into your everyday cleaning products. You can check this post out on the very simple all purpose cleaner I now use. It is very important to pay attention to what your body is coming into contact with. This could really be as simple as paying attention to your lawn fertilizer, or weed killer. This is not to make you paranoid, I just want to make you more aware!
3. Basic Nutrition
HYDRATE! The majority of women are dehydrated BEFORE conception, and the FIRST and most important thing you can start doing to keep your baby healthy is drink more water. By the time your baby is full term a TRILLION cell divisions have taken place! Every time a cell duplicates, 75 percent or more of its volume has to filled with WATER. GROWTH depends on how much water is available. Water also is needed to flush cellular and toxins away from you and your babe.
FOOD--ladies, FOOD is the number one cause for every type of related disease today. You HAVE to fill your body and your babies body with nutrient-rich proteins, essential fats, carbohydrates in the from of veggies and whole grains, micro-nutrients (vitamins, minerals and enzymes). The processed foods, artificial beverages, and SUGAR will NOT help you grow a healthier baby. Despite what our culture will tell you that eating for two, or late night raids to the pantry or Chick-fil-lae are normal, there IS a time and place for that. Be conscious about the foods you are putting in your body because it is a direct reflection of your babies health.
4. EXERCISE! Before, during and after.
Obviously exercise is extremely beneficial for you and your babe. It is not research-proven to support a wonderful birthing process. Renowned researcher James F. Clapp III published Exercising Through Your Pregnancy, and stated "The women who continued to exercise had a striking increase (more than 30%) in the incidence of uncomplicated, spontaneous delivery, and, the duration of active labor was much shorter."
Every mother is different, and every pregnancy presents a unique set of challenges so make sure to do what is best for you--and always remember to talk to a doctor before committing to any exercise program!
Cheering for ya!
