3 Tips to Detox after the Holiday Rush

Hey Peeps!!

As I always say, this season only comes once a year so there is no reason not to enjoy the moment and all the yummy food that comes with it! But sometimes that can bring us to feeling a bit lethargic and lacking energy due to all the extra sugar and carbs--so I wanted to share my Top Three Tips with you to getting back on track. I have already heard/seen way to many advertisements for unhealthy ways to drop the Holiday Bulge--and realistically you just have to make conscious choices in your day to feel better!

1. HYDRATE! Most of us become dehydrated after the holidays because of the extra sodium we consume along with the sugar and carbs from other drinks/foods. So upon waking drink a large 8-12 oz glass of water--and keep drinking throughout your day! Feel free to add some Lime or Lemon to help cleanse and detoxify your skin.

2. MOVE! Get outside for some fresh air, sunshine and movement. Even if all you can get in is a 10 minute walk--moving your body outside in nature just makes you feel better and will help activate those muscles.

3. Eat your veggies and lean protein. Chances are you still have sweets lying around, but if you are being conscious and eating well balanced meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, those few cookies won't make a big difference! So get back to meal planning, and make conscious choices where they WILL count!

See you all in the New Year!
