Oh has that sunshine been lovely or WHAT? Can't get enough right?! I know the entire Spano household has been happy happy happy and for that I am SO grateful for!
However; ONE thing that most of us New Enlgand peeps are not so careful with this time of year is the use of sunscreen. Seeing as sunshine is so limited the thought of needing sun proteciton kinda isn't even a thought at all. (Well maybe it is and I applaud you!) I have ALWAYS been vigiliant about wearing a face moisterier with sunscreen since I can remember--but the rest of my body was always a hit or miss.
Last fall I was at my yearly dermatolgist appointment and she removed a suspiscious looking mole from left leg, right above my knee. I never thought aything of it as I have had plenty of moles removed in the past and they all checked out OK. Well--this time it came back positive for melanoma. Like what?! It's my LEG--it is under hiding for the majority of the year; how can this be true?!
Long story short I had it removed--have a HUGE scar from the procedure and since that moment I researched the best sunscreen possible for my face AND my body. Toxin free of course because thats how I roll--and in today's world you gotta watch out for it.
I have been usig these products since October of last year and I just want to share with you because I pnly share stuff that works well for me in hopes it helps you!
On my face I use this Beauty Counter tinted moisturizer. As a non-make up person I was nervous about the way it would make my skin look, but it is SO subtle AND is SPF 25--brilliant!
On my boys and the rest of my body I use Badger Sunscreen products. I personally love that they are a local company(NH) and the ingredients are minimal and all natural. The main ingredient for the sunscreen is Zinc Oxide, which is exactly what it should be!

And they have this really cool sport stick applicator that I love using on the boys. It's a little hard at first but warms up over time!
So PLEASE, PLEASE remember to care for your skin!
Even being cautious to apply sunscreen to all external limbs!
